Singer Sarah Brightman Scrubs Space Station Vacation

In a statement issued Wednesday British soprano Sarah Brightman called off plans for a flight to the International Space Station, citing family reasons.
Brightman began training in Russia’s Star City in January for a ride aboard a Russian Soyuz capsule.
Her 10-day stay on the station, a $100 billion research laboratory that flies about 260 miles above Earth, would have cost her about $52 million.
Her trip was arranged by Space Adventures, the privately owned U.S. travel agency.
